I'd like to run another Art Contest.

Theme wise I was thinking Odyssey Meets Star Guardian.

I'll be putting up a $10 PayPal or Points Prize for first and would love to get some donations for a 2nd and 3rd place

anyone would like to donate something please leave a comment below, Art or Points, Crafts are welcome but must come with free shipping (stickers, pins ,keychains, etc)

This will be a no NSFW (however you are welcome to show clean ships/pairings) and will be a group vote.

Hey, if any admins see this comment, yes, I joined your group as a co-founder and changed the admin settings, however, they were changed from "Are Automatically Accepted" to "Are Not Allowed". Before you get mad at me, let me explain why I did this:
There has been two notorious group hijackers for over a month now who apply as a co-founders, delete all the artwork in the gallery and favorites, and replace it with gore, scat and porn.
As an example:
www.deviantart.com/toonami-for…
(the NSFW stuff has since been removed but the gallery has been wiped out)
This group has been running for a decade, and the fact no one noticed this security flaw until now shows how lax DA is when it comes to these things. I do not want to see all the hard work that got put into this group to be wiped out and replaced with scat, gore and porn just because some vandal has too much time on their hands. If keeping groups safe is a crime, then lock me up, but note that I ended up helping your group in the long run.

Act 1:
History in the Making Chapter 1Chapter 1: The OutsiderThe professor carefully sketched out a large palace-like structure with a large golden disk above it, appearing like the sun on the chalkboard and said to his class, "Now, the Shurimans received knowledge from the Targonians, which inspired them to build the Sun Disk that was on the capital of the empire. The original was considered a failure, but who helped them improve and build a newer version? Does anyone know?" He looked over the class: some students were either fast asleep, not paying any attention, or just glaring at their open books in boredom, except for one girl in front of the class raising her hand up high. She had blue eyes and wavy purple hair and she wore a lavender blouse with a brown corset that had gold buttons on it, a lavender skirt adorned with blue crystals, blue stockings, blue gloves, and light brown boots. "Yes, Miss Cadwalder?" the professor asked. "Mages from Ixtal helped the ancient Shurimans build their new Sun Disk and Ixtal became one of the first nations to join the Empire when it was formed." the girl said, much to the annoyance of her classmates. The professor nodded in response. "Of course, that's correct." he said before returning to writing on the board. "Members of The Ascended, Nasus and Renekton, were greatly familiar with the power of the Sun Disk and it was said that they used it to ascend to the power they were known for today. Then, the Icathians started a rebellion against the Shurima Empire. What did they do during the start of this?" The girl's hand immediately went up, earning groans once again from the classmates. "Why don't let Altair answer it? She OBVIOUSLY knows." one of the students asked. The grumbles of "nerd," "show off," and "know-it-all" filled the air, which made the girl, Altair Cadwalder, tense up slightly. "Feel free to answer, Miss Cadwalder." the professor said, ignoring his students' annoyed groans and grumbles. "The Icathians started by attacking the estates in the east before eventually knocking down half of a mountain and killing one of the Ascended." Altair said as she bit her lip upon seeing everyone around her glare or roll their eyes at her. "Yes, indeed..." the professor said. The lesson went on from there and Altair took notes while occasionally answering questions that the professor asked the class. Soon enough, the class was dismissed. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After finishing her studies for the day, Altair stepped into her family's dining room where they were waiting for her at the table and briefly greeted her parents with a quick kiss on the cheek before sitting in between her older brother and younger sister. "We're glad you were able to finish for today, Altair." her father said. "We were discussing the recent heists that some Zaunites have been conducting." Morgan Cadwalder had blue eyes and wavy dark brown hair with grey streaks in it as well as a beard wearing a white shirt with a frilled collar, a brown vest with gold buttons, a blue jacket with yellow lining, white pants, and light brown boots. "Can't you possibly believe it? Ugh, what could be next? Those Chem-Barons could take over our pristine streets and...infect them with their horrid pestilences from the undercity!" her mother said in disgust. Natasha Cadwalder had green eyes and purple hair tied back in a bun and wore a white and blue dress with gold lining, a choker with a cameo on it, and brown heeled boots. "Well, if we could just make the arrests of Zaunites quicker, we wouldn't have this problem!" her brother said as he pounded on the table. "I plan on changing that once I become an enforcer." Orion Cadwalder had green eyes and messy dark brown hair with purple bangs while wearing a white shirt with a frilled collar, a brown vest with blue buttons, a yellow jacket with blue lining, white pants, and dark brown boots. Altair jumped at her brother's reaction. "Well, it would also work if we put them through a court of law and decide what would be a proper punishment for criminals." her sister said. Charline Cadwalder had blue eyes and straight dark brown hair with purple streaks and wore a dark blue blouse with a brown corset that had gold buttons on it, a dark blue skirt with gold lining, lavender stockings, lavender gloves, and dark brown boots. "What do you think should be done about this growing problem, Altair?" Natasha asked her oldest daughter. Altair felt a tinge of fear as her family stared down at her for any possible answers. She wasn't too fond of talking about politics like the rest of her family... "Why don't we solve the problem by teaching the people of Piltover and Zaun about their history?" Altair asked. "Both cities were together at one point and the air spirit, Janna, protected them from the Great Darkin War. We even both celebrate Progress Day! If we can make sure these conflicts don't happen again, the best solution isn't putting them behind bars, it's teaching them what happened in the past to make a better future." Charline scoffed and said, "Don't be dumb, Alt! Teaching them would probably only make them fight more since they just don't like us!" "Charlie's right. They get bolder and bolder by the day and Gods know that they've never given up without a fight..." Orion said. Altair sunk down in her seat, unsure of what to say before she stood up. "The sun's starting to set over Piltover, so I'm gonna go watch it." she said before stepping outside. Altair went out to the balcony, resting her arms on the awning to watch the zeppelins zip by across the orange and pink sky that illuminated the entire city in a golden glow. She always admired a Piltoverian sunset and felt incredibly alive and calm just watching the sun slowly, yet surely go down in the horizon. Who knew what unknown historical discoveries were out there? Altair closed her eyes to take it all in. Once she was out of the Academy and graduated, she was finally going to achieve her biggest goal to record as much as history as possible and to find anything new...

History in the Making Chapter 2Chapter 2: Honey and the Bee"Oh great, it's Altair Cadwalder..." one of her classmates said under their breath as she walked past them while buried in her history book. Altair knew it was a habit of hers that she read while walking, but she didn't care that she got odd looks for it. If it was an amazing book, what else mattered? It was like she was in another world full of new historical discoveries to make. "I still can't believe she's part of Clan Cadwalder." another classmate said with a scoff. Altair turned another page and just found herself deeper and deeper in the little world inside her head. "She's so pretentious! Just because you love history SO much doesn't mean that you can tell everyone about how the War of the Three Sisters was fought or whatever." a third classmate said. Altair was so distracted that she didn't even notice the person she had unexpectedly crashed into. Her book went flying out of her hands and across the floor, much to her shock."Oh no!" Altair said while reaching for her book. Suddenly, someone picked it up and held out to her. She looked up and saw a young man with amber eyes and brown hair holding onto a crutch with his other hand as well as the book. "I apologize if I bumped into you, miss, but I believe you dropped this." the man said in an accent before examining the cover. "Runeterra: A History? Quite the fascinating read if I do say so..." Altair recognized him as Professor Heimerdinger's assistant, knowing that she had seen him following the small Yordle around wherever he went. She was in slight shock from nearly losing her book to the unforgiving hallways of Piltover Academy that she found herself unable to speak. "Um..." The man showed her the book. "This book is...yours, correct?" Immediately, she snapped out of her stunned state when she noticed her book. "Yeah, it's mine. I'm studying history to help find ways to improve the world and make sure all those wars don't happen again." Altair said, taking it from him. "That's a noble cause to be fighting for. Personally, I prefer to develop advancements to technology for the world to become a better place." the man said. Altair knew she was forgetting something, so she quickly put her hand out for him to shake. "Oh! I'm sorry...my name is Altair. You already know who my family is, but what's your name?" The man scratched the back of his head for a moment before shaking her hand. “I’m Viktor.” Altair didn’t really think about why or how he said that so gently, but she had a feeling that they've been staring at each other for a bit longer than expected. "I should go now. Mythology class is in a bit and it's my second best and favorite subject..." she said. Viktor nodded and said, "I believe I need to go as well because the dean requested that I investigate a disturbance that occurred earlier." With that, they went their separate ways. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Altair sadly didn't have enough time to watch the sunset when her parents and sister approached her. "Altair, your father and I have to attend a trial tonight since some young man was conducting dangerous experimentation." Natasha said before putting a hand on her youngest daughter's shoulder. "Besides, we want to give Charline experience for her political aspirations." Charline rolled her eyes at her mother. "Mother, she already knows that I need experience!" she said. "We are aware of that. Orion is in charge while we're gone, so we expect both of you to be on your best behaviors." Morgan said with a stern expression. Altair nodded and pulled her parents and sister into a hug, saying, "Good luck, guys!" They left, so she went back to look at what remained of the sunset as the pink and orange soon turned into dark shades of blue and purple. Altair just kept looking, unaware that Orion was coming up to her to accompany her with a cup of hot chocolate in hand. "I knew you would be out here." he said with a laugh. "Oh stop, you know that I would always be out here when the sun sets." Altair said. "Do you think the sun sets the same way in places like Zaun or the Frelijord?" Orion sipped on his hot chocolate for a moment. "Who knows? Of course, you would be the type to ask a question like that, Alt." Altair laughed in response. "What? It's a legitimate question! If the sunset is the same as here, then we can bond over that and Runeterra's history!" "But what if they declare war on us? Sunsets and historical understandings won't fix that." Orion asked. "If it means that we can educate everyone outside of Piltover, we can prevent wars." Altair said, gesturing to the city skyline. Her brother winced in response. "Alt, it's just not that simple." Altair shrugged. "It doesn't hurt to try, right?"...
History in the Making Chapter 3Chapter 3: High HopesAltair jumped slightly when she saw the Poro dash by her feet in excitement once she approached Professor Heimerdinger. If there was anyone who would listen to her on her thoughts on preventing war through history, it would be him, especially since he lived for so long (and the fact that he was head of the Council). "Miss Cadwalder, isn't it? I am aware of your family's reputation and my assistant has told me about you." he asked her. "Yeah, that's me...I'm the second oldest child of Morgan and Natasha Cadwalder." Altair said while nodding her head. "Wait, Viktor told you about me?" Professor Heimerdinger nodded in response. "He did, my dear. He said that you were quite interested in making Runeterra a better place using the power of history and that fascinated me greatly. Would you care to tell me about your interest in history? When did this start originally?" Altair wasn't sure what to think about this while shuffling in place. "I guess it all started when I was young and my brother would read about mythology and stuff to me and our sister whenever our parents were busy. It was always exciting whenever it was time for bed and he could take a book and read about the Ascended, the origins of different creatures the people would sing about in Bilgewater drinking songs, the story of the Volibear, and so on. When it came to hearing about all of the conflicts growing up, I thought that by educating those about history to prevent the wars and make sure none of the past mistakes are made again. Not many people believe me on it though..."Professor Heimerdinger examined her expression from the way she talked about it. "I see. It is quite the cause to fight for and your determination is evident, but I can see why people would be skeptical about it. Knowledge is power, yet some cities would prefer not to listen to history since it is written by the winners." he said. She nodded and said, "I understand, professor, I really do. All I'm looking for is a chance to express my passion with those willing to listen." Professor Heimerdinger laughed a bit as he patted her leg. "You remind me of Jayce Talis, that young man who has been invested in this concept of HexTech. You both have the same drive and ambition to change the world, my dear, and it always pleases me to see young people get so invested in hopefully safely making a name of themselves." Altair knelt down and shook his hand. "Thank you for listening to me." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Altair wandered through the maze that was Piltover Academy's library as she grabbed a book from the shelf before carrying the stack she had over to a nearby table. She set up a small barricade of books in front of her and immediately got into reading about the Brackern, crystalline scorpion-like beings who were originally from Shurima. Altair was busy trying to work on extra material a report on Shurima and their culture for her history class, occasionally going to write notes on the mythology and species of the fallen empire. "Do you even know the origins of these crystals?" she heard a familiar voice ask. Altair peaked up from her book slightly and saw Viktor talking to the man from the trial. She remembered that Charline and their parents mentioned a guy who looked like that. Was that the infamous Jayce Talis super obsessed with HexTech or whatever it was? "Uh, no...the man who gave me the crystal as a kid didn't say anything about it." the man said. There was an image similar to those crystals he was experimenting with in the book she was reading, so maybe it could help them. Was it bad if she spoke up about it? "Well, they say that the Brackern lived in crystal caverns under the Shurima Empire where they lived peacefully and went into a deep hibernation during the Rune Wars. Your HexTech crystals or whatever might've came from a Brackern cave." Altair said as she held up the book and pointed to the image. The two men then looked at her before glancing at each other and Viktor let out a nervous laugh when he saw her. "Jayce, this is Altair Cadwalder, she's studying history at the Academy. Altair, this is Jayce Talis, my new...partner." he said. Jayce immediately shook her hand and said, "Nice to meet you, Altair. I think I saw your parents and sister in the crowd during the trial. What do your parents do?" "My dad comes from a family of artists, so he's an artist too and my mom is from a family of inventors and she helps develop weapons for enforcers." Altair said before handing over her book to him. "Oh! And this is what I was talking about with your crystals probably being from Shurima." He studied the image in the book as Viktor looked over his shoulder to check it out. "Huh. You're pretty smart, you know that?" Jayce asked, giving the book back. Altair shrugged. "I guess you can say that...everyone thinks I'm a know-it-all." she said. With that, she went off to return the stack of books and started putting them away in the shelves they belonged in, noticing Viktor following after her. "I don't think you're a know-it-all. You may not believe it, but no one thought that a cripple from Zaun like me would become an assistant to the head of the Council." he said. Altair looked down at the books she was putting away. "Oh...I-I didn't know that. All I've known was the grandeur of Piltover despite the fact that I was always studying other places in Runeterra...and all I want is to fix the issues in the world by teaching them about differences." Viktor then reached for one of the books. "Do you need help? If-If you need it, that is..." Altair felt her heart stop when she saw him turning red when he said that last part. “Sure.” she said. Viktor scratched the back of his head and nodded, saying, “Well then, we should begin.” With that, he began to help her organize.

Act 2:
History in the Making Chapter 4Chapter 4: Counting StarsSeven years later..."Thank you for the interview, professor!" Altair said as she held her journal and tried to balance her quill and ink bottle on top."You're very welcome, my dear. Happy Progress Day!" Professor Heimerdinger said with a smile. Altair laughed a bit at this before making her way through the Progress Day festivities, ducking from miniature airships or mechanical butterflies zipping by her head. She swore she could see her father working on a commission for one of the other upper class families of Piltover and her mother showing some weapons that were on display. Charline was probably talking with the other politicians and members of the Council elsewhere, so it appeared that everyone was busy with something. Altair had graduated from Piltover Academy and finally achieved her goal of becoming a historian, but she still needed to convince everyone on how her studies could help improve relations. She knew that people told her that she should've been a diplomat (mainly her parents) and she decided to just work as a normal historian. She then walked by the Kiramann Family's tent when she heard a gasp and saw her brother, Orion, in full enforcer uniform staring at her."Alt! Oh, I missed you during all that intense enforcer training, kid!" he said as he ran up to her and pulled her into a hug. "Orion!" Altair said with a smile. "I'm so glad you were able to finally become an enforcer like you wanted!" He laughed. "Yeah, it's great, isn't it?" Orion asked. "Be sure to keep your concentration, Cadwalder." the other enforcer said. "Oh! Altair, this is Caitlyn Kiramman, but I'm sure you know who she is." Orion said, gesturing to her. "Hi." Altair said. "Your brother talks a lot about you during our time off, Altair. I hope we can get to know each other if we have the time to meet." Caitlyn said. Altair nodded and said, "Well, I should get going since I feel like I'm interrupting your patrol..." "See you around, Alt!" Orion said while watching her walk off. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"Have a happy Progress Day, Miss Cadwalder. Your interview was delightful." Mel said to Altair. "Thank you, Councilor Medarda. Happy Progress Day." Altair said as she smiled at her.She then saw Charline walking in her direction while she made her way through the crowds, so she decided to get her younger sister's attention. "Charlie!" Altair said as she gestured her to come over. Charline stopped and gave her sister a small smile before hugging her. "Alt, it's great to see you again after finishing all those lessons on Runeterra's politics." she said. "I'm guessing you're still doing your history thing or whatever?" Altair fixed her hair slightly, almost panicking when she saw the ink bottle tilt to the side of her journal a bit. "Yeah, I am. I see that you've finally achieved your dream of being a politician." Charline shrugged before groaning when she noticed a hair strand out of place."I guess you can say that I'm a badass at it. Once we get every responsibility avoiding person off these streets with the enforcers' help, this city will be safe." Altair winced slightly at this, but kept a smile on her face. "I'm so happy for you, Charlie. I bet you'll--" she began to say. "Hey, Char! Aren't you coming?" one of Charline's colleagues asked. "Sorry, I have to go." Charline said before leaving with them. Altair nodded and went in the opposite direction, only to crash into someone and for her ink bottle to fall to the ground."Shit." she said under her breath as she knelt down to try and grab it. At least it didn't spill everywhere...when she was about to get the bottle, she felt the person's hand on top of hers. Altair looked up and found herself face to face with Viktor, blushing when she realized that it was him. His eyes widened once he noticed it and blushed as well before pulling away. "Altair...hi." Viktor said, his voice softening. Altair put her ink bottle on top of her journal and asked with a laugh, "Sometimes, we just keep bumping into each other, right?" She noticed that Viktor had changed slightly since they last saw each other before graduation: his hair was slightly longer and messier and it looked like he had bags under his eyes, but he still looked like the man she had eventually befriended while she was still a student. "So, um, how has your Progress Day been?" Altair sighed. "It's been good since I was interviewing people about this being the two hundredth. However, I can still feel like people don't agree with my goals and think that I'm a know-it-all..." "For me, today has been...difficult. While Heimerdinger likes the inventions Jayce and I have come up with, he believes that it'll take a decade to get any flaws fixed." Viktor said. Altair placed a hand on his shoulder, which made him look away from her quickly. She could notice how his face turned red almost immediately from the touch. "Don't worry about it. Admittedly, today's been a little hard on me too despite the fact that this day will be considered historical in the future." she said. Viktor cleared his throat a bit. "Would you mind if I bought you some coffee? Maybe a break from all of this is what we both need. After all, Jayce's speech isn't until tonight." Altair gave him a smile and nodded her head. "Sure thing." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The next morning, Altair walked downstairs after visiting her brother in his room. Her parents had told her that he was injured alongside Caitlyn and a few other enforcers during an attack by what was suspected to be a Zaunite criminal (who also stole some HexTech crystals and some blueprints). She could overhear her parents and Charline talking about what had happened that night, so she decided to go check out whatever they were saying about what happened. "Yesterday was going so well and now, our son is injured!" Morgan said with a groan. "Natasha, you've been discussing with those HexTech scientists about possible weaponry after that speech of theirs. What did they say?" "They mentioned that they only wanted to do scientific advancements, not weapons for war. We can't possibly wait for long though...I told them that they should look into building weapons, so I can assist them. What if that lead Chem-Baron, Silco, attacks the city with that criminal? They're possibly working together!" Natasha said with a groan."Mother, father, what Orion and the other enforces need is justice. I plan on giving that to them and talking to the Council about possibly finding a quick and efficient way to catch this criminal." Charline said, pounding her fist onto the desk.Altair knew that she had to speak up, so she said, "Zaun used to be a port town and part of the Shurima Empire. When it comes to ports, it means connections with various kingdoms and other areas since merchants could travel from anywhere in Runeterra to Zaun. Why not try to educate everyone on this past?" Charline groaned in response. "Would you PLEASE take this seriously, Alt? Our older brother is injured and there's an insane criminal on the loose!" she said. "Your sister is correct. This situation is grave, so we must find a way to put an end to these Zaunite rebels." Natasha said with a nod. "But we should--" Altair began to say. "That would be enough now, Altair. If you excuse me, I have artwork to finish for the newest member of the Council." Morgan said, standing up and leaving. She bit her lip in despair as she watched her mother and sister leave. There HAD to be something she could do to fix this...

History in the Making Chapter 5Chapter 5: PaleAltair groaned to herself as she dropped her quill from taking her notes and ran her fingers through her hair. Even after all she had done to try and make things work with her suggestions, people still wouldn't listen...she didn't even notice Orion coming in and sitting next to her at the desk. His face was scarred from the attack that was done by the Zaunite criminal and he had broken his arm, so he had it in a sling for now until it healed. "Having trouble?" he asked. Altair nodded in response and said, "Yeah...but are you feeling any better? I know that you lost six of your fellow enforcers and Caitlyn was discharged thanks to her parents." Orion sighed when he heard that question."Honestly, I'm trying ever since the incident. Caitlyn is a good friend and I worked alongside those six men and women who gave their lives and it all feels so...awful. Part of me wishes that I could've done something instead of get injured." Altair had never seen this side of her brother before since she always saw him as this ambitious wannabe hero who wanted to put the criminals behind bars and have everyone see him as a great enforcer with a politician as one of his little sisters. "If I could be honest, I'm shocked that you feel that way. You were one of the ones who didn't really think that history could solve the world's problems, but I guess that all that enforcer training and what happened last night opened your eyes or something."Orion shrugged. "I guess, but hey, you're my little sister and I care about you and Charlie a lot. Part of my reason of becoming an enforcer was to protect both of you as well as dad and mom." Altair still couldn't believe it and just stared at her. "Do you really mean it?" she asked. Orion smiled at her in response. "Of course, I do." he said. Altair then hugged her brother. "Ow! Watch the arm, watch the arm, watch the arm..." She let go of him and let out a nervous laugh."Sorry." -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Altair sat against the window of one of the libraries in Piltover (this one happened to be near Jayce and Viktor's lab) and watched the sunset, holding onto one of the books she picked off of the shelves. What was better than a combination of two of her hobbies than this? She was lost in reading about the mythology of Runeterra from the Mother Serpent of Bilgewater all the way to Lamb and Wolf the Kindred until she heard a cough and turned to see Viktor standing there with a handkerchief held to his mouth. "Are you okay?" Altair asked when she noticed the blood on the handkerchief. "Your mouth was bleeding." Viktor jumped once he heard her and put the handkerchief away before saying, "I'm fine...I was going to get some air after working on some experimentations with HexTech. I didn't expect to see you here, but I guess I had a feeling that you would be here." She moved aside for a moment and patted to the spot next to her. "Do you want to sit with me? I-I don't mind if you say that you don't want to." Viktor shuffled awkwardly in place, scratching the back of his head. "Of course, I believe that I have the time to do so." He then took a seat next to her while watching the sunset. "Are the sunsets in Zaun like this? I always wondered that..." Altair asked. "It gets darker faster in Zaun from what I remembered." Viktor said. "The skies would appear slightly red and orange before immediately turning turquoise and purple and getting snuffed out by the smog of the undercity. I would prefer this over a Zaunite sunset. It's honestly beautiful."Altair blushed upon hearing that, also noticing that he had briefly looked in her direction when he said that last part."That's...poetic." Viktor gave her a small smile and found himself blushing."I'm a scientist, I don't believe I have the skills for poetry." Altair felt her body tense, but she didn't feel nervous at all. What was causing this? She had no idea."Anyways, I was reading about the mythologies of different area of Runeterra. It's some really cool stuff worth checking out, so maybe I could read a story to you someday?" she asked. Viktor traced his fingers across the cover of one of the books stacked in between him and Altair. "I would like that." he said. With that, they just watched the sun set together. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Later that night, Altair was busy reading through the mythology book when she heard frantic knocking at the door to her room. She jumped up and immediately answered it, only to find Orion standing there out of breath. "Orion? What the hell is going on?" she asked. "Apparently, Jayce Talis is at the door and said that he wanted you to come with him. It's an emergency, not to mention he said it was an incredibly serious one." Orion said. Altair just acted quickly, running downstairs with her grip tight on her book and getting out of the house where Jayce was waiting for her. "Oh good, you've made it." Jayce said before leading her through the streets of Piltover. "What happened?" Altair asked as she followed after him. "Why did you ask me about coming along? This can't be a science thing, right? I'm not a scientist since I'm a historian!" Jayce hesitated for a second and sighed. "It's Viktor. He's...I found him passed out in the lab with blood on the table next to this piece of HexTech he was working with. I knew that you would want to see him more than anyone else." Altair gasped. "Is he okay?" Jayce didn't say anything for a moment before gesturing her to follow him."The hospital is down this way." he said. Soon, they arrived in the room Viktor was in and Altair felt like she was on the verge of crying. "VIKTOR!" she said, throwing her arms around him in a hug and running her fingers through his hair. Viktor let out a sharp breath, his hands shaking while he slowly held her close. Jayce was awkwardly standing near the door to the room. "I'll leave you two alone." Jayce said. With that, he left and Altair let go of Viktor before sitting in the chair nearest to the bed. "I'm so sorry...I-I didn't know. Gods, I'm an awful person for not coming sooner!" Altair said as she held back the tears that were threatening to come from her eyes. "No, you're not awful at all, Altair. Outside of Jayce, you're the only other person I wanted to see." Viktor said. "I want you to never blame yourself for my condition going forward. I've been ill since childhood and I have just accepted it as a part of me." Altair wiped her eyes for a moment. "I was so worried about you. I thought--" She impulsively reached for his hand and grabbed onto it, not sure what came over her. Unlike what happened on Progress Day, Viktor didn't immediately pull away out of embarrassment and just stayed in place with her grip slightly tightening. "I could tell from the moment you hugged me, drahá." Altair raised an eyebrow and asked, "What?" "Oh! In my mother tongue, it means dearest or...beloved." Viktor said, feeling his face heat up when he said that last part. Altair blushed while letting go of his hand and opening her book. "Anyways, do you want to hear a story from this?" Viktor nodded. "Of course." Altair gave him a smile, saying, "'Sigvar Half-Quiver knelt down, his head bowed towards the citadel floor as the wind outside of the gates howled like the screams of ice wraiths...'"...
